《今日电子》杂志创刊于1993年，江泽民同志亲笔题写刊名。由中国电子工业出版社和美国国际数据集团(IDG)主办，美国赫斯特(Hearst)出版公司协办。自1998年10月起，《今日电子》以美国电子行业的权威杂志《Electronic Products》为蓝本，以产品为纲，及时为国内的电子工程师和工程管理人员提供最前沿的产品技术信息。

Authorized by President Jiang Zemin, Electronics Today was established as one of China's main periodicals in the electronics industry. With the affiliation of International Data Group in 1994, a brand new type of management strengthened our position. In August of 1998, Electronics Today changed its name to Electronic Products-China, as a result of the partnership formed with Hearst Business Communications, publishers of the highly respected U.S. publication, Electronic Products.

Electronic Products-China emulated its American sibling in all aspects, but is localized for Chinese readers.
